The Volk-4 flash hider is intended to reduce the visible firing signature of the RPK-74 and carbines based on it, such as VPO-148. It does not reduce sound levels; directing sound forward makes firing more comfortable. Made from heat-resistant steel on five-axis machines, followed by surface carbonitriding. Resistant to corrosion in fresh water.
