The Volk-3 flash hider is intended to reduce the visible firing signature of AK-103, AK-104 and civilian Saiga 7.62 variants 30 and 35 in darkness and twilight. It does not reduce sound levels; directing sound forward makes firing more comfortable. Made from heat-resistant steel on five-axis machines, followed by surface carbonitriding. Resistant to corrosion in fresh water.
